If you remember this post about all the worker honey bees at my mom's hummingbird feeders, you will be pleased to know that all the birds and the bees are getting along just fine. Mom feeds the bees by using an old birdbath (they are consuming about 8 cups of sugar water a day) while the hummers are back to feeding from their feeders.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful weekend...
Remember to keep your nose to the ground and
your tail a waggin!
using the bird bath is brilliant! go mom!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is spectacular! I've never seen such a thing, but it's a fantastic idea!

ReplyDeleteHi girls, I love this; what a wonderful way to feed the bees and keep them producing. The pic of the hummingbird was so good, but then I love all your photos. Have a great weekend dear friends.

Gracie, those are some beautiful photos! :-) I'm glad that everyone is getting along! Have a fun Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! 8 cups is a lot of sugar water! You're so thoughtful! Love the pic of the noses to the ground and the tails waggin'! Have a fun and safe holiday!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a grand time! How does mom make sugar water? I know 8 cups of water but how much sugar would be added to that?
ReplyDelete@Jodi, I use the same water sugar ratio that I give the hummers and that
Deleteis 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. I could actually put out more but feel that the 8 cups is enough per day. Think every honey bee in the county is now at my make shift feeder!!
