God must have cried all night."
I have been trying to compose this post for nearly 4 hours. My plan for today was to make all my Christmas goodies and wrap gifts that should have been mailed earlier this week. I find my mind wandering and tears flowing down my cheeks thinking of those little ones and the
brave teachers/adults that lost their lives yesterday.
Some lost their only child, a son, a daughter, maybe a brother, a sister, their mom, a grandchild, good friends, nieces, nephews or teacher...
for some they lost it all...
Did we lose the one who would find the cure for cancer, a famous musician,
a ballet dancer, a poet, a future president??
we will never know...
The Christmas lights will be dim,
all of our worlds will be different now.
There will be unopened packages,
empty spots at the table,
that family photo will be incomplete,
an innocence lost,
and broken hearts....
although these precious people will not be here on earth with us for Christmas
they will be home, yes, home for Christmas!!
"Be near them Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay, close my them forever and
love them I pray. Bless all the dear children in thy tender care.
And take them to heaven to live with thee there."
My thoughts and prayers are with all involved in this tragedy.

This tragedy is overwhelming, Val, and your tribute speaks for so many!
ReplyDeleteVery well said Val. I just couldn't find the words. The right words. You have done so and I thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteVery well said in a time when words don't capture the grief.
ReplyDeleteThis was so moving Val and it has me in tears. This is such a tragedy. It's just hard to wrap your head around.
ReplyDeleteVery well put. It is so sad.
ReplyDeleteVery well said, thank you.
ReplyDeleteAlthough not everyone can express them so eloquently, your sentiments are shared by many.
ReplyDeleteOrdinary people don't need semi-automatic or automatic weapons unless they are part of law enforcement or the military. As a just and caring society, I support proper health care for all and that includes mental health before guns. The suggestion that there be armed guards in all schools is absurd and a sad commentary and where we're headed if this were implemented.
There is no peace of any kind when guns rule.
