Blood Moon...

Aloha, the following are my "Blood Moon" shots.
 
 
 The beginning
 
 about a  1/4
 
 3/4
 
 almost full
 
so close.....and then the clouds came.
 
It was a beautiful night and I didn't have to get up at 2a.m. to watch!!

  1. How beautiful...and different! Glad you took pictures because I didn't get up in the middle of the night to see it. :(

    This morning when I went outside to pee, the moon was sinking in the west and the sun was rising in the east..both at the same time!

    Must have been nice not to have to get up in the middle of the night to take the photos. I didn't have that luxury. Just another reason to move to Hawaii!

  6. Nicely done Val - my little iPhone couldn't capture it - but it was such an awesome sight! I had to drive five miles east of K'kai, but it did not disappoint!! The shading made it all the more 3-dimensional - it looked like a big marble in the star-studded sky. I was lucky to speak with Pat Jones on the phone & he pointed out Mars, Saturn & Hokulea - I won't forget it for a long, long time!
